NO ENTRY STANDARD REQUIRED FOR 2008 EVENT
I have decided to drop the entry standard for the 2008 Colac Six Day Race BUT the daily cut off's will still apply.
Numerous people are concerned about qualifying as their last 6 day race standard was in 2005 or earlier and there are very few options for 24/48hr races.
So to be fair due to circumstances beyond athletes control there will be no entry standard to enter this year's race but it will be enforced from 2009 and onwards.
With less than 5 months to go till race day and less than 3 months to go till entries close, the Colac Six Day Race is well on schedule to return back to the glory days of being the best six day race in the world.
Athletes from around the world have emailed me wanting pictures of the track and if you click on this link, you will see for yourself the venue. Concerns have been raised about how high the embankment of the velodrome may be, but those concerns have been eased by some of the athletes seeing these pictures and realising it is not as bad as first thought.
The velodrome has been certified at 444m around and any records broken can be claimed.
Currently we have 3 registered athletes and their names are on the front page along with a countdown clock letting you know how long there is before entries close. We will keep adding the names of athletes that register so people can see who will be competing.
In the next few weeks there will be some big announcements in relation to sponsorship and media partners that will be supporting the 2008 Colac Six Day Race so stay tuned.
Yours Faithfully,
Lee Troop
